A Minor Triumph

I did complete a full lap of the Back Cove path without so much as a hamstring twinge. Ran it in 29:55 with my HR Average at 123. For those keeping score at home, the pais 3.54 miles or 5.7K. I'll run again on Saturday.

Well even a minor triumph is still a triumph.

Hey, I tried a Minoh Double IPA (from Osaka) tonight at a Osaka goods event in the Shibuya Eki Tokyu Depaato 8F. Wow, seriously up there with the best of the American double IPAs, like Dogfish 90 minute etc. And brewed by a cute lady who I had the pleasure of chatting with. Perle and Cascade hops in lovingly liberal portions. Despite regularly feeling totally inadequate in Japanese, it is nice to sometimes realize that you can at least hold a simple basic conversation...enough to deal with the essentials, like "Are you awake?"

Thanks.

Even though I don't deserve (haven't earned it) I am treating myself to Allagash Brewing's "Hugh Malone" tonight. It's purported to be quite hoppy despite being of Belgium-style origin.

I'd love to try the Minoh Double IPA at some point. Maybe after a long run or a solid running week.
