Road Weary

240.8 (Ouch!)

I don't know that there is any scientific evidence to support this but I'm starting to think that body weight is influenced by intake (i.e. eating and drinking).

I need a decent workout day today and a great weekend. And I need to eat and drink less. How about them tactics?

5K erg in 21:12.3, HR ave. = 117, max. = 134

4K run (treadmill) in 22:56, HR ave. = 127, max. = 134

What's an erg? A rower?

I have heard that one obscure scientific paper did link food and drink intake with weight gain and loss ... however the researchers closed the paper by stating that the results were not conclusive and that more research was needed.

Yes. It's short for rowing ergometer. I use a Concept2 rowing machine. The C2 web page is full of information that you might find interesting. Here's a link to a VO2 Max calculator that has high reliability, for example:

http://www.concept2.com/us/training/tools/calculators/vo2max.asp

Is there a comparable calculator for running? Is VO2 Max sports specific? I test at 60 using my rowing results, I can't imagine any running test (because I'm mush slower running) would produce a similar finding.

Speaking of findings, although there's little scientific evidence to support it, I am going to experiment with reducing intake to see if it helps reduce body weight.

I'm doing action research on intake at this very moment. Anyone know how to clean salsa out of a computer keyboard?
